If you are a seafood lover who has grown up in Mumbai, you will definitely have relished the Bombay Duck, locally called the Bombil. Bombay Duck is a species of fish found in the estuaries of Northern India, predominantly in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. This fish is very delicate in nature, and is unlike most fishes in appearance. This fish has a thin nearly transparent body and is almost slimy to touch. It is a soft fish with soft bones and high moisture content, so needs to be handled gently when cooking.

When you talk about food and especially the street food in a city like Mumbai, apart from chawpatty stalls, pani puri vendors and gola centers comes the variety of food you get in Bandra. All the street food addicts must visit bandra and especially Chapel Road, if you are a typical catholic food lover. Based near the famous hill road, Chapel Road is a typical Catholic area where you can still find houses similar to goan architecture. Apart from its architecture and the graffiti all around Chapel Road, the area is also famous for its small food outlets and bakeries which offer a typical flavour of “PAV FOOD!”.

Girgaon Chowpatty:

Though famously known as Gol Gappa or discovery dish of Chandani Chowk, but mostly recognised as Pani Puri in Mumbai is worth tasting. The Bhim Singh stall at Girgaon Chowpatty flatters your taste buds as soon as you stuff your mouth with the scrumptious and juicy Pani Puri as the sweet and spicy flavours marry each other and produce a pleasant smile on your face. Ekdum Jhakaass!. The price of per plate consisting of 6 puris is just 25 rupees and worth the buck.
